-Green Beans with Almond and Lemon Brown Butter

Serves 4

 1 lb. green beans

4 Tablespoons unsalted butter

2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice

¼ cup unsalted slivered almonds

       or roasted almonds chopped

¼ teaspoon salt

 

 Instructions 

Add trimmed green beans to a pot of boiling water and cook for 4 to 6 minutes.  Drain and transfer to a serving bowl.  In a frying pan, melt butter on medium heat.  Using a wooden spoon, stir as the butter starts to foam.  When the butter begins to turn brown remove from heat (about 1 minute.)  Add the lemon juice, almonds and salt.  Pour over green beans, toss and serve.
