A number of people who are trying to cut calories find that they are starving right before bed. Strong dedication to weight loss and determination can motivate a person to fall asleep despite a grumbling tummy. But what if hunger pains interfere with your ability to fall asleep or are so intense that you have to eat something? What should you eat after dinner, before bed? The smartest choice is grapes or an apple. Grapes and apples have a high water content that will fill you up with very few calories. Drinking a glass of water, which has no calories, may fill your stomach, but because water is tasteless your taste buds won’t signal satisfaction to your brain. A glass of water or juice is also less effective at staving off evening hunger because these drinks contain no fiber. The fiber in apples and grapes will give your stomach something to breakdown so it will stop grumbling. If you are trying to lose weight I advise keeping grapes in the house. Eating a few handfuls at night won’t interfere with your weightloss efforts, but you may find that three grapes may be all you need to tide you over til morning.
