After giving birth to my second child, I was ready to get my body back. I had lost about 8-10 pounds within the first three months after having Andrew and then NOTHING! I would say that I was at a weight loss plateau for about 3-4 months! I was getting very frustrated and a little down. I met with Dani explaining what I had been doing with regards to fitness and that I really could only get into the gym about 3 times a week. She set me up with a 3 times a week workout plan that she thought would bust through the weight loss standstill.
So………..your plan is working!! My abs are not quite as good as I want and still look pretty flabby………..probably not doing the ab techniques they way I am supposed to enough……….but I have been going to the gym 2 to 3 times a week and doing what you told me to and I dropped another 8 pounds and a whole size Still would like to lose about 10 more pounds………….but feeling much better about myself and getting hope that I actually can do this again! Thanks so much -Jamie
Congratulations Jamie! She was able to push through a weight loss plateau and drop this weight during the holidays! Recovering quickly and effectively from childbirth takes some specific techniques that are not widely known. I am working on getting my book, a prenatal and postpartum fitness and nutrition plan, published. Wish us both luck as we continue to work towards our goals.

Is there a better way to start the new year than sharing a fitness success story to motivate us to achieve in 2010?
I have been a runner for 20 years. In May 2009, I started experiencing hip pain, especially on my right side. I did the first thing you should do — rest and ice, with no running (walking/biking only). There was no relief. I then met with a Physical Therapist, who gave me exercises/stretches. I did those for weeks, with no relief from the pain. I was very frustrated and sad because I wanted to run again! A friend had recommended Dani to me earlier in the year. I had two appointments with her. Dani gave me “aggressive” hip exercises and stretches. Dani told me to do the hip exercises every three days, and stretch every day. I am happy to report that my hip pain went from a seven-eight down to a two-three. I am very excited. Approximately 12 weeks ago, I started running again (albeit slow). I’m very excited that Dani helped me through this frustrating and nagging injury. THANK YOU DANI! SHE IS A MIRACLE WORKER! -Kathy
Kathy, you are too sweet! Nothing makes me happier than to see my clients follow my advice and achieve their goals. I provided the program, but you provided the commitment that resulted in your reduced pain. Way to follow through! -Dani Federico, M.P.H.
And just to clarify, Kathy’s “aggressive” program is safe and appropriate for her situation. I told Kathy, if you want to enjoy running again, you have to get serious, with a rehabilitative program that is designed for specific results. I do mean business, because I love success!

I’d love to take all the credit for showing people how to eat, exercise and look fabulous, but as a trainer and a nutritional counselor I provide only the tools and knowledge. Lifestyle changes don’t happen overnight, but when you are ready and open to a new approach and committed to going the distance, victory can be yours! I was working with self professed sugar addict for 10 weeks and was excited to receive this email updating me on how my guidance coupled with her determination has made a dramatic impact.
I was surprised to find out how well your nutritional advice worked. After following your plan for two months, I had a bite of something sugary. It was a peach cobbler and I actually did NOT like it. Since then I have had minimal sugar and walk away from most of it, completely not interested. I am finding that fruit tastes intensely sweet and it seems to satisfy me. I think I am cured!! The true test will be Christmas Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
I haven’t met all of my goals, but I am still working on it though!! I love my workouts and have been doing them faithfully. I still feel quite sore a day or 2 after!!
I’ll be calling to set up an appt. before Christmas to help motivate me to make it through the holidays for sure!!
Thanks for your interest in how I’m doing!! That’s motivating too!!
